Texas City and La Marque are not moving the same way
The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported that U.S. house prices rose 2.4% from August 2025 to August 2026. That is the national picture. The Real Estate Data Aggregator tells a different story for Texas City and La Marque. Prices fell in every ZIP code here over the same stretch. The gap between the highest and lowest median sale price in this market is $80,000. A city name alone will not tell you where you stand.
Three ZIP codes, three different markets
For the three months ending August 31, 2026, the Real Estate Data Aggregator counted homes sold and tracked prices across 77590, 77591, and 77568. Each one moved differently. Knowing which ZIP your home sits in matters more than knowing the city name.

| Median sale price | $205,000 | $262,950 | $285,000 |

ZIP 77590: the lowest price, the fastest pace
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 77 homes sold in 77590 during the three months ending August 31, 2026. The median sale price was $205,000, down 6.8% from the same period a year before. That is the sharpest price drop in this market. But homes here also moved the fastest. The median days on market was 48, which is 15 days shorter than a year ago. About 1 in 4 homes, 25.3%, went under contract within two weeks of listing. That share is up 7.1 points from last year.
ZIP 77591: the steadiest price drop, but slower to sell
In 77591, the Real Estate Data Aggregator recorded 62 homes sold in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is down 21.5% from a year before, the biggest drop in sales volume across the three ZIPs. The median sale price was $262,950, down 2.8%. That is the smallest price decline here. ZIP 77568: La Marque has the highest price and the longest wait
La Marque's 77568 had the highest median sale price of the three, at $285,000 for the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is down 4.8% from a year before. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 159 homes sold, down 12.6%. Homes here sat the longest, a median of 79 days, which is 17 days more than a year ago. Inventory also rose slightly: homes for sale were up 1.3% from last year, the only ZIP in this market where that happened. Pending sales fell 22.3%, the steepest drop of the three.
One thing all three share: prices dipped while the nation rose
The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported U.S. house prices rose 2.4% from August 2025 to August 2026. Every ZIP code in this market moved the other way. That does not mean this market is broken. It means pricing here has to be grounded in local data, not national headlines. Sellers who price to the local reality are still closing deals. In all three ZIPs, the share of homes going under contract within two weeks is up from a year ago.
Rates are adding pressure for buyers everywhere
Mortgage rates topped 7% for the first time since January 2025, according to Realtor.com. CNBC reported the average contract rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage reached 7.37% as of late October 2026. That affects what buyers can afford, which in turn affects what sellers can ask. Even so, CNBC also reported that mortgage purchase applications rose 4% for the week. Buyers are still out there. They are just being careful.
